Who We Are

Sisyphus Rocks is the result of a seventeen-year working relationship between the founders, Sandra Bain Cushman and Rob Rushin. From long experience in the struggle to gain greater clarity and spontaneity in their own work, Sandra and Rob have developed a unique collaborative approach to unlocking individual potential. We help you and your employees embrace more productive, healthier, and more satisfying lives.

Sandra Bain Cushman’s passion for unlocking creative potential began with her theater studies at Cornell University in 1977. A certified teacher of the Alexander Technique since 1990, she has taught renowned musicians, writers, theater groups, medical professionals, and business leaders how to gain greater poise, balance, and freedom in their work and in their lives.

Sandra’s work is driven by her desire for change and her belief in individual potential. Her warmth and wit combine with her sharp perception of each person, allowing her to transform habit and reaction to spontaneity and freedom in a moment.

Sandra lives on a mountainside in Virginia with poet and professor, Stephen Cushman, and their two sons, both aspiring musicians.

Rob Rushin has been a performing musician for over 25 years and a member of the corporate community as a writer and manager in software development for two decades. He is an active participant and group leader in music seminars nationally and internationally, and is devoted to bringing creativity and freedom to the lives of working people. Rob has a Masters Degree from Emory University.

Rob’s excellence as a leader arises from his dedication to his own discipline. His work with individuals and groups focuses on developing personal potential and is both challenging and exciting. He leads and inspires with clarity, humor, and good will. Rob has a clear sense of the cost of unrealized potential in the workplace—both in business and in the arts—and is able to show others the way through the ups and downs of a process to a triumphant completion.

Rob lives near a swamp in Hammond, Louisiana with painter and professor, Judy Rushin, and their two young children.
